We cut the straps directly from the unlined skins, as a solid piece of leather, ensuring solidity. Your strap is then very slightly thickened at the level of the buckle holder in order to be able to mount the secure snap buttons to limit the double thickness of the leather once it is closed.
The mounting of your buckle on our leather straps is done by snap buttons. We have been using 15mm diameter snap buttons for more than 15 years. They are extremely robust and allow you to change buckles indefinitely if you wish. The snap buttons are mounted by press, they will never break. The leather back covers the snaps when you wear the belt, so their color does not matter, we do use neutral color snaps (matte black, or bronze).
